A settlement in the $9,000 suit filed against L. Ron Hubbard Sr., the Church of Scientology, and others over asserted damage to a Paradise Valley home was made out of court.
Mrs. Estrid Anderson Humphrey, formerly of Paradise Valley and now of Abilene, Tex., brought the action through her attorney, George W. Botsford of Scottsdale. She claimed her house and property were damaged by persons with assertedly deranged minds who allegedly were placed there for treatment. The settlement terms were not made public.
