A decision on whether to evaluate realignment options for Gilman Springs Road north of San Jacinto was put off indefinitely Tuesday by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. Hopefully Monday’s deluge will wash away the Church of Scientology’s wish to vacate a section of Gilman Springs Road. Scientology officials want to close the road where it runs through Gilman Hot Springs, home to their Golden Era film and sound studios near San Jacinto. Scientology leaders maintain that the busy, curvy road is too dangerous to carry traffic, but on Monday, the high road was one of the safest routes between the San Jacinto Valley and the world.
