The ban on Scientology has been lifted in Western Australia. A Bill to repeal the ban on scientology imposed by the previous Government in 1968 passed rapidly through all stages in the Legislative Council last night. The Bill had already been approved by the Legislative Assembly. A Bill to lift the ban on the scientology cult in W.A., completed its passage through the Legislative Assembly yesterday, despite Liberal Party opposition. Although the leader of the Opposition, Sir Charles Court, and several other Opposition members spoke against the Bill, they did not force a division on the second reading, committee and third reading stages. The Government will legislate during the present session of Parliament to repeal the prohibition against the practice of scientology in SA.
