December 2, 1998 - Wulfen

Editor's Note: This picket report was written months after the fact (February 17, 1999), to provide a more complete record of Toronto pickets.

Times: 6:30 PM to 6:35 PM

Sign: One, with "$cientology: Bait and Switch 'Church'" on one side, and "WWW.XENU.NET" on the other side.

Leaflets: Deana Holmes' excerpts from the witness affidavit filed in support of the felony charges against Scientology in the Lisa McPherson case.

Since Artemis was going down to Clearwater to picket in front of Flag (the Fort Harrison, where Lisa McPherson died), I ended up babysitting his apartment. Since I didn't want to drag all the way across town just to pick up a set of keys, we decided to do a quick picket of the Toronto Scientology Org on the way.

Unfortunately, due to co-ordination snafus, we ended up meeting at the rendezvous point nearly half an hour late. Since I was carrying the sign, we decided to do a five minute quickie (picket, you p3rv).

So, we walked up, and started picketing. Mario seemed surprised to see us, but he also seemed rather used to this Wednesday night routine, he just picked up some leaflets and started body routing. This time, he had help from another Scientologist body router (we'd seen her before). Well, they both looked pretty surprised when after five minutes we ran away, but what can you do? Busy lives here...

However, the night's doings weren't over. When I got home to my apartment building, I found out a possible reason Mario looked surprised. The latest batch of Scientologists who have been Fooled by Ron's Lies (FRL) were picketing outside my apartment building.

Actually, there were two Canadian FRL pickets that night. You can see pictures of my FRL picket here, and pictures of Gregg Hagglund's FRL picket here (update 2002-03-02: pictures are off the web).
