Fired by Scientologist Podiatrist
Melissa Alexander (a christian) was fired by scientologist podiatrist Dr. Harry A. Hieke, Jr. DPM, of Family Foot Specialists (WISE '97) because she refused to take courses at Church of Scientology. Melissa's husband Robert Alexander posted details of this on the Scientology-critical newsgroup alt.religion.scientology.
Harry Hieke has an interesting background and was found guilty on december 9, 1997 of one count of grand larceny against CHAMPUS, two counts of grand larceny against Medicare, one count of grand larceny and one count of petty larceny against Medicaid, and two counts of grand larceny against TRIGON/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Incorporated. More information on that is here on the page of Tilman Hausherr http://home.snafu.de/tilman/prolinks/ .

You go to work at a place that seems, at first, like the dream job. It seems that all your co-workers are just like you, with similar traits, similar priorities of honest hard work, and for once a boss that believes in rewarding that hard work. Then after some time passes, and you are making some progression in position and duties, always receiving praise for the good work you've been doing, you are handed a memo and told, "Here are some courses we want you to take." They are taught by the Church of Scientology, "but these are just business courses." One trip to the library reveals that these same courses are part of the official doctrine of a cult who's founder, L. Ron Hubbard, denounces God and your religion as big lie. You also find out that in the courses, that you have been asked to take, you will be subjected to typical brain-washing techniques used by fanatical cults. Of course you object to taking these courses and thus begins a nightmare at the work place of such that you have never experienced before, ending with you being fired from a job for the first time in your life. Documents are falsified, lies are told about you, and your record is besmirched, all for standing on principle, holding fast to you own religious beliefs and not allowing someone else's religious cult to be shoved down your throat. Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Subject: So you want to Know about Scientology? From: godsgr8@aol.com (Gods Gr8) Date: 12 Aug 1995 04:35:40 -0400 I'm not sure if I ever posted this but I was cleaning out my hard drive and trying to sort through 2M of data I've been collecting on the subject when I came across this. Sorry it's so late. If you think Scientology can be good for business, HA, just ask Dr Heike of Newport News VA or any other users of the "technology" how much their legal bills are. It has been asked, where can I find more information about Scientology? I believe the best non-bais synopses can be found in a Time magazine article, May '91. Scientologists will argue (they sued Time and the writer) but the fact is that too much truth hurts. If you want proof that the business scams are true just pick up the paper; Beacon Journal, Sept 2, 1992, "Dental Assistants say firing result of their rejection of Scientology," ; or The Wall Street Journal, March 23, 1995. These are good references. I know because I speak from experience. My wife was unjustly fired and attacked by these Scientologists and we are currently taking a stand for her faith and for other Christians that have been persecuted in this one doctors office. In the process, we have come to know more of what this so called religion of Scientology is all about: GREED! Anyone that tells you that they have some good ideas, that the principles are sound and never mind the lawsuits, is way off base. Those who try and practice it's principles without paying the big bucks for the "Auditing" and self improvement seminars have MISSED THE BOAT also! The whole point and purpose of Church of Scientology is to make MONEY! And if they can trample over your religious rights and mess up your mind in the process, so be it. Be Warned! Take away the belief in God, and you are not left with the belief in nothing, but rather the belief in ANYTHING. Also reach me at Robert.Alexander@SourceBBS.com
Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Subject: Re: Need some advice. And, some thoughts. From: godsgr8@aol.com (Gods Gr8) Date: 12 Aug 1995 04:46:50 -0400 Not to fuel paranoia but if someone in CoS hates you enough, that could have been them. When my wife was taking her Scientologist employer to court over his forcing employees to take the CoS courses, a freind of ours at the police station asked us who it was that was doing a check on us. He had assumed that my wife had applied to the Police department for a job, but she hadn't. We never found out who did the check. Fortunatly my wife has a squeeky clean record. Take away the belief in God, and you are not left with the belief in nothing, but rather the belief in ANYTHING. Also reach me at Robert.Alexander@SourceBBS.com
From: godsgr8@aol.com (Gods Gr8) Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Subject: the business consulting front Date: 25 Aug 1995 04:43:30 -0400 In case I hadn't given the details before, here they are... For more information about my wifes story, look for "Be brainwashed or be fired" or some of my other posts to a.r.s. In short, my wife was hired by Family Foot Specialists in Newport News, VA. The Dr and owner, Dr Heike, allows Marline Davis, a "business consultant" and Scientology pusher to call all the shots in the running of his front office. She used this power to intimidate and coerce the mostly Christian emplyees to take the CoS courses. My wife, Melissa, refused and was fired. We filed in federal court and the Dr finally settled. He didn't give up easy though. On our side, Mr Pyle, a lawyer from a one man office in Amherst VA, but with the backing of the Rutherford Institute. On the dark side, the firm of Jones, Blechman, Woltz & Kelly, P.C., the biggest firm in the area. It seems every one of them and their lawyer brothers were calling and trying to double check all of our sources and freinds. In depositions, they grilled Melissa for 7 hours, trying to trip her up with double-talk or make her say something she didn't mean. It finally ended to our satisfation. There were even some small changes in Heike's office, though Scientology is still in charge. So the fight must still go on. If only to warn and educate. Take away the belief in God, and you are not left with the belief in nothing, but rather the belief in ANYTHING. Also reach me at Robert.Alexander@SourceBBS.com
